Studies were made in the morphology of seedling, the peroxidase isozyme patterns of dormant seed and stem of seedling, the fruiting rate of cross, geographic and biological characteristics in cole crops. Coupled with the earlier studies, it was concluded that it was more reasonable to treat Chinese kale as a separate species. Amendment to the key to cole crops was also put forward.
