Ho ng Ko ng lies o n the north margin o f the Asian tropics.Its tree flora is dominatedby tropical elements,but possesses a distinct transitional nature between tropical floraand subtropical flora.The Hong Kong flora has a close relationship to that of SouthChina,being an extension and development of the tree flora of South China.
