    Abstract:

    The allelopathic effects of aqueous extract of leaf and root exudates of Ilex macrophylla Bl. on the germination and seedling growth of 6 accepter plants,i.e. tea plant, radish, rice, cucumber, manybean, cabbage were studied. The study indicated that there are allelochemicals existed in aqueous extract of leaf and root exudates. Allelochemicals accumuted in soil can inhabite the growth of nearby plants if the concentration is high enough.
