    Abstract:

    The rooting abilities in different species of Eucalyptus are quite different. The stem anatomy and histochemistry of Eucalyptus species, i.e. Eucalyptus ABL No.12 W5 clone, E.urophylla MLA clone, E. exserta and E. citriodora , were studied. It was indicated that those stem cuttings of Eucalyptus species, which had relatively developed and relatively lignified rays, relatively high content and relatively extensive distribution of phenol substances, were easy to form root primordia and then easy to root.
