Based on Geographic Information System(GIS) and Internet Technique(IT),the study aimed at creating spatial database and document database of Guangdong Province Soil Resource Information System(GDSIS). The study constituted a coding system of spatial data of soil resource, applying scan and mouse tracing on screen to digitize a vectorgraph of soil feature map, and created a database mode for putting the edaphic document information on the internet. The result will provide database for upbuilding a Guangdong Province Soil Resource Information System.
