    Abstract:

The effects of twelve media on the mycelial growth, sclerotial number and mass of Rhizoctonia solani AG 1 IA were investigated. The results showed that rice straw cooked solution agar, water agar, PDA and maltose agar were the better media for the growth of R. solani AG 1 IA, whereas beef extract peptone agar was the worst one among the twelve media. In regarding to the sclerotial formation of R. solani AG 1 IA, Richard's agar was found to be the best medium, in which the sclerotial numbers and mass were the largest.
