The grain quality of SP_2 generation of two indica rice variety "Xianxiaozhan" and "Shengbasimiao" was studied.The results showed that the space mutation could improve the grain quality,especially,reduce amylose content and increase gelconsistency.But alkali spreading value was not obviously effected by space mutation.The relation of grain quality variation by space mutation and rice breeding was discussed.
