Abstract:he thin layer drying characteristics of wheat were investigated under constant drying air temperatures and relative humidities. It was found that the falling rate of drying process could be devided into two stages,and that the drying rate in the falling rate drying stages was affected significantly by the air temperature,However,the effect of the relative humidity of the drying air was found not to be siginificant.

Abstract:Benthic aquatic insects were sampled by qualitative collection method at 3 sites in the streams of Mt.Nankun,Guangdong Province in September,1994.Total 955 individuals which belong to 104 species of 67 genera in 41 families under 8 ordels of aquatic insects were collected. They can be identified by 30 species of 17 genera in 12 families of Trichoptera,30 species of 18 genera in 9 fmilies of Ephemeroptera;12 species of 8 genera in 2 families of Plecoptea;14 species of 12 genera in 8 families of Odonata,9 species of 4 genera in 4 families of Diptera;4 species of 4 genera in 3 families of Coleoptera;2 species of 2 generain 2 families of Hemiptera;3 species of 2 genera in one familv of Megaloptera. Using Shannon-Weiner diversity index,EPT taxa richness,Biotic index and Family-level biotic index to evaluate water quality of 3 sites in the streams of Mt.Nakun.The resuit shown that the 3 sites had dean water quality.

Abstract:Based on life table method,the controlling effects of 6 insecticides and Batrytis(Beau-weria Vuill.)on the natural population of Masson pine caterpillar(Dendrolimuspunctatus Walker)were evaluated by Interference Index of Population Control(IIPC). IIPC reflecfs both the key effects of measurements and the side effects of insecticideson natural enemies,and can hence comprehensively evaluate the influence ofcontrolling measurements on insect population dynamics. It is stated from the exper-imental results that,specific action insecticide and Batrytis have better interferencingeffects on Masson pine caterpillar than others;and the broad spectrum insecticides arehelpful to heavy outbreak of the natural population of Masson pine caterpillarin next generation.

Abstract:The penetration of fenvalerate and nicotine into the cuticule of citrus leafwas studied by using the insecticide residue analytical technique. It was foundout that the penetrating capability of two selected insecticides differed due tothe variation in their physicochemical natures.The results also showed that thestomal density, addition of surfactants and temperature had positive effect onthe penetration process.

Abstract:在17-33℃范围内,玉米螟赤眼蜂(Trichogramma ostrinae)在米蛾卵上的寄生功能反应,均符合Holling(Ⅱ)型模型,不同温度对功能反应参数有明显影响,以30℃条件下的最大寄生最为最高(Namax=29.9)。寄生率、温度及寄主密度三维关系分析,本试验温度条件下,温度对寄生率的影响尚不及寄主密度的影响大。

Abstract:This paper deals with the numerical taxonomy of Ulmaceae plants all from south China. All the taxa were divided into 30 operational units(OTU).The 42 characters used for analysis included moophological,anatomical,chemical and pollen morphological characters.Seven methods of systematic clustering were used:shortest distance,longest distance,median distance,centre of gravity,square sum of devia-tions,class average and variable. The results were not very consistent with the classical taxonomy. The variety Aphananthe aspera var. pubescens should be concelled;the species Trema dielsiana H.-M.should be restored;the taxonomical position of the species Aphananthe cuspidata(B1.)Pl.should be studied further.

Abstract:Soil culture experiment on the effects of soil texture,water supply and tuberele-bacteria inoculation on Albizzia falcata seedlings was conducted and the activity of nitrogen-fixing enzyme measured.Results showed:1.Medium loam and sandy loam were favorable to seedling growth and tobercle formatio n while hard and clayey soilwith sand content less than 16.6% inhibited growth;2.There was a great differencein the results of tuberde-bacteria inoculation among different soil textures,the bestbeing medium loam and sandy loam;3.Measurement suggested that the long periodof low temperature and rainy humidity might have caused the low activity of nitro-gen-fixing enzyme in the tubercles.For definite conclusion,further study is needed.

Abstract:This paper deals with a technology for raising the retcntion rate during the strengthening of wet-processed fiberboard with TPFR(Tannin-Phenol-Formaldehyde Resin).Based on the results of three-wave-length UV spectrum analysis and orthogonal test,an improved processing method allowing optimum retention is proposed.the new processing technology raises the retention rate by more than 27% on the average.

Abstract:The fluoride content of banana leaves which came from four areas and the bananaleaves of different degrees of withering was determined.The result indicated that thefluoride content of the banana leaves that came from polluted areas was much morethan the content of those coming from clean areas.The fluoride content of the firstand the eighth leaves which came from clean areas was almost similar.Thefluoride content of the first leaf and the eighth leaf which came from polluted area wasvery different.The fluoride content at each spot on the normal leaf was almost identi-cal,whereas the fluoride content at each spot on the withered leaf was very different.The fluoride content showed incremental trend from the middle vein to the edge of aleaf.The fluoride content of the banana leaves of different degrees of withering wasmuch more than that of the normal leaf.Because of the accumulation of fluoride ina leaf,the baana leaf wilted.

Abstract:The pili of Escherichia coli(serotype O2)pathogenic to chicken were collected,roughly purified and observed under the transmission electron microscope(TEM).The polysaccharides of capsules and the soluble protein of E.coli werealso extracted,and the structural changes of E.coli which occurred during theextraction were observed under TEM.With propolis as adjuvant,the antigens(the collected pili,the extracted polysaccharides of capules and inactivatedwhole bacteria) were used to make three vaccines respectively.Throughchallenging 7-week-old broilers with the same serotype bacteria,the results ofthe protection index,bacteria isolation and lesion score showed that,the cap-sules polysaccharides vaccine was the best of the three,the inactivated wholebacteria vaccine came next,and the pili vaccine third.But 7-week-old broilerschallenged with the different serotype bacteria could not be protected.Theantibody levels of chickens induced by these three vaccines were measured bythe microplate agglutination test.

Abstract:Experiment on maize(Zea mays L.)hybrid Guiding 1 was done in Guangzhou in1988 and 1989.In different sowing date,spring crop had the longest growthperiod in comparison with summer crop,autumn and late-autumn crop,also had thelongest period from seeding emergence to panicle initiation and from panicleinitiation to heading or silking.There was a synchronous growth relations be-tween the stage of panicle initiation and unfolded leaves or leaf age index.

Abstract:用因子分析法建立早晚稻产量的选择指数。早晚稻谪产品种的共同点是:植株有一定的高度,穗较长,直立。就参试品种的情况而言,早稻以大穗型,即每穗实粒数增多,千粒重持平,每株有效穗数适中,有利于高产;晚稻以多穗型,即每株有效穗数增多,千粒重增大,面每穗实粒数适当减少,有利于高产。鉴于目前水稻矮化程度较高,进一步降低株高会影响产量。单株产量可作为高产选择的重要性状。

Abstract:Genetic distances estimation and clustering analysis were made on the base of 19 characteristics of 15 rice cultivars and 17 wild rice varieties.The results Showed that rice cultivars and wild rice varieties were two categories.Common wild rice varieties from same regional distribution were not necessarily closely related in consanguinity.Seven ecodemes were clustered according to the values of genetic distances which are important genetic parameters and can measure the consanguinity among ecodemes.The results mentioned above provided the theoretical basis for utilization of germ plasm resource and can be used in se-lecting parents for hybridization breeding.

Abstract:The growth habit of leaf of Akebia trifoliata was studied.The results showed thatthe growth of individual leaf had eight obvious peaks.The leaf growth of maternalvine was the first peak and its growing period was about 40 d.The second,thirdand fourth peaks are the leaf growth of the first branch period and the growing periodwas about 100 d.The leaf growth of second branch was fifth peak and the growingperiod was about 120d.The third branching had three peaks of leaf growth that theywere the sixth,seventh and eighth,respectively.The growth period of individual leafwas about 240d and can be divided into such threestages as maternal vine,rapid-growthand slow-growth stage. The results of generalized variance analysis showed that this division is both necessary and desirable.
