Abstract:Natural infectiolls with Cryptosporidia in chickens,ducks and geese were investigatad at 5chicken farms, 5 duck farms and 3 goose farms in Guangzhou by flotation using Sheather' ssugar solution.In 124 of 882 fecal samples from chickens,273 of 1 004 from ducks,and 71 of571 from gase,cryptospondial oocysts were deted. The positive rates were 14.1%,27.2%and 1 2.4% respectively. According to the morphology and size,the oocysts were identifiedas Cryptosporidium baileyi.

Abstract:diseased orchid plant samples representing 20 species from 7 cities ofGuangdong provinee were tested for cymbidium mosaic virus(CyMV),odontoglossumringspot virus(ORSV),cucumber mosaic virus (CMV)and papaya ringspot virus(PRV)with direct antigen coating ELISA(DAC-ELISA).CyMV was detected in 40 samplesand ORSV was detected in 26 samples,which represented 25;2% and 1 6.4% of total159 samples surveyed, respectively.Mixed infections with both viruses occurred in 6samples, representing 3.8 % of the total samples surveyed.CyMV infections were de-detected in Cymbidium sinense,C.sp.,C.faberi,C.pendulum,C.ensifolium,Vanda sp.Oncidium,Dendrobium sp. ,Cattleya; ORSV infections were detected in Cymbidiumsinense,C. sp.Vanda sp. , Doris sp.,Eria sp,Phalaenopsis sp,double infections withboth viruses occurred in C.sp.,Oncidium sp,Vanda sp.

Abstract:Niche characteristics o f 25 dominant populations in the forest communities o fBa baoshan,Guangdong,were studied by computing their niche breadth value andniche overiap value.The result showed that,among the dominant populations,Castano psisfargesii,C.cariesii,Lithocamus hancei and Schima superba had the highestniche breadth value,and the descending order of niche breadth was to some extent inaccordanee with the IV(Importance Value)sequence of the po pulations.Niche o verla pwas closely related to niche breadth Two populations with wide niche breadths usual-ly had a higher niche overlap value than those with narrow niche breadths o r whenone population had wide niche breadth and the other narrow niche breadth.Finally,the paper gives brief remarks on the niche studies and its application to forestrymanagement and silviculture.

Abstract:从烟叶中提取的超氧物歧化酶(SOD),经PAGE垂直板电泳后,用氮蓝四唑(NBT)法活性染色,并经凝胶薄层扫描(λ=595nm),结果显示粗酶液有6条同工酶谱带,经纯化后的酶只有一条谱带。此纯酶液置冰箱36h后,可获得长方形结晶。结晶酶液用SephadexG-100柱层析(1.5cm×100cm)和SDS-和SDS-PAGE测得其分子量分别为24830和28900。用等电聚焦电泳测得该酶等电点为6.80。该酶在pH5~9范围内活性较稳定,在75℃保温15min活性尚保留54%。此酶对KCN、氯仿-乙醇不敏感,但受到EDTA,H_2O_2的强烈抑制,表明烟叶中分离纯化得到的SOD为酶分子中结合Fe的Fe-SOD。

Abstract:Azadirachin has effects of antifeeding,stomach poison,contact poison,and growthinhibition on many insects. The main mode is disrption of endocrinic activities ininsect.Azadirachtin attacks neurosecretory cells,corpus cardicum prothoracic glands,etc.,causing interruption of synthsis and release of prothoracicotropic hormone(PTTH)in brain,and reduction of receptivity of prothoracic glands to PTTH which acco untsfor the shortage of 20-hydroxyecdysone in synthesis and release. For these reasons,gro wth and metamorphosis of insects were disturbed.The effects of azadirachtin onother tissues relative to synthesis and release of hormones for metamorphosis werealso discussed in this paper.
