Abstract:Sterility of PTGMRS deriving from Nongken 58S germplasm and 5460S germplasm was governed by two pairs of recessive genes, but that of Annong S-1 governed by a couple of recessive major genes. An allelism test involving five PTGMRS revealed that Nongken 58S and W6154S, Nongken 58S and W7415S, Nongken 58S and 5460S, W6154S and Annong S-1, W6154S and 5460S possessed partially identical photo-thermo sensitive sterile genes; Nongken 58S and Annong S-1, W6154S and W7415S, W7415S and Annong S-1, W7415S and 5460S, Annong S-1 and 5460S had different photo-thermo sensitive sterile genes.

Abstract:A study on the effects of minimal inhibitory concentration of several antibiotics, including Gentamicin, Streptomycin, Ribostamycin Sulfate, and Sagamicin Sulfate, on pollution microbes of L-malic acid was conducted in this paper. The experiment of the simulation ferment process with the same temperature, pH value and ventilation conditions in vibration culture with twice pollution microbes was carried out added and the results were validated by agar plate culture. It was showed that Gentamicin had the strongest inhibitory effectiveness and Sagamicin Sulfate the second. The minimal inhibitory concentration of Gentamicin was 0.4 mg/L, and after twice pollution microbes added, the effective concentration was 0.8 mg/L. The result was used for the ferment processing practically with the fermentation tanks of 240 and 1700 L, and proved to be valid for L-malic acid fermentation.

Abstract:Studied the influence of the loblolly mealybug, Oracella acuta , on the growth of the slash pine, Pinus elliottii , in Guangdong province.The damage degree of the slash pine is divided by the symptom of damaged pine.The results showed that growths of height and lateral shoots were reduced by 23.7% and 25.8% respectively in heavily damaged stands .Height growth,diameter growth at breast height,fresh weight of one year old needles,volume growth of severely damaged trees declined by 26.8%,30.3%,47.6% and 33.5% respectively. In the heavy damaged stands which have been infested by O.acuta for five years, the results showed that the volume of damaged trees dropped within five years in which the second and third year had great difference compared with the contrast, and the growth of the slash pine was less affected in the fifth year. The total volume loss of damaged stands amounted to 3 964 m 3 per hectare during the five years.

Abstract:The relations among soil enzyme activities, soil nutrition content and stand growth in a eucalypt plantation were studied. The result is as follows: Soil enzyme activities are correlated with soil nutrition content fairly, and there is certain speciality in eucalypt plantation; the volume and biomass are correlated with soil enzyme activities fairly; soil enzyme activities in eucalypt stands with pineapple are more applicable than in those with no pineapple; but the applicable range must be further investigated before soil enzyme activities are used as appraisal indicators for soil fertility in eucalypt plantation.

Abstract:It was reported that amino acid trialkyltin derivatives can be synthesized with amino acid with trialkyltin oxide and their biological activities were determined.The results of biological tests showed that these derivatives had insecticidal,fungicidal, herbicidal and plant growth hormonal activities, especially an obvious effect in fungicidal and herbicidal activities.

Abstract:Pot experiments were carried out to determine the effects of applying Cu,Zn to the latored soil on the growth of Chinese flowering cabbage ( Brassica parachinensis Bailey) in Qiaotou Aficultural Garden,Dongguan city. The results showed that the plant weight decreased with applying Cu and Zn to the soil simultaneously, and that the change of plant Cu or Zn content was a process combining rise with fall. Enhancing the dose of Cu or Zn separately dropped the plant weight but increased the element content in plant. Another metal content could be reduced initially and then raised.

Abstract:Alkaloid in Oxytropis was extracted, separated and appraised, Swainsonine was found in the alkaloid extract. Rats were fed forage mixed with oxytropis or alkaloid, two group rats became poisoned and showed similar clinical symptoms, autopsy and histopathologic changes, which indicated that the alkaloid was the principal toxin. Not only conventional H. E. staining, but also histochemical technology and transmission electron microscopy were used to observe the histopathologic changes in the poisoned rats.

Abstract:Absorption of nutrients such as NO - 3, H 2PO - 4,K +,Ca 2+ ,SO 2- 4,Mg 2+ ,Zn 2+ ,and Cl - by plants. Such as barley, wheat, rice, corn and legumes was extensively investigated. It has been tested and proved by numerous experiments that kinetic parameters ( K m, I max , C min and E ) of given nutrient ions vary greatly among species and cultivars, and are influenced by plant age and nutrient supply. It follows that the parameters are of theoretical and practical importance in studying the adaptability of root system to its environment; in evaluating and screening absorption-efficient genotypes and in predicting nutrient absorption from soil by plant root system.

Abstract:Fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH) , characterized to be fast,sensitive,accurate and effective, is a new technique of in situ hybridization which can directly locate specific DNA or RNA sequence on chromosomes by using biotin labelling probes. This article summarized the application of fluorescence in situ hybridization in crop genetics and breeding researches,including: 1)screening repetitive DNA sequences and multicopy gene families; 2)identifing the alien chromosomes and chromosome segments in allopolyploids; 3)detecting and locating low or single copy DNA sequence. With some new techniques developed, the FISH method will play important roles in much more fields of basic and applied researches in crop genetics and breeding.
