Abstract:The membrane lipid peroxidation and protective enzyme activity were Compared in leaves ofvarious Sugarcane genotypes in solution culture by full strength and phosphorus- deficient Hoaglandsolution. It showed that phosphorus deficiency could incrase the membrane lipid peroxidation and changethe artivity of protective enzymes. The changes were somewhat different between different genotypes, itmay be connected with the sbility of low phosphorus tolerance.

Abstract:In order to probe the roles of calcium in drought resistance of plants, the soybean seedlinggrown in the solntion with different calcium conentration (0, 5, 14 mmol.L-1)were used to study theeffects of water stress (- 0.5 Mpa, PEG 600) on the activities of SOD, POD and CAT and theirisozymes in the leaves of differen calcium. The results showed that under water stress, the SOD activityincreased, the CAT activity deceased. Similar tendency of POD activity was found among the leaves ofthree Ca2+ treatments, it was "increased Becreased." The PAGE analysis showed that under waterstress condition, there were 10 bands of SOD, 3 bands of CAT in the leaves of different Ca2+ treatmnts.There were changes in bands of POD under both conditions.

Abstract:After testing some factors such as stomata, sugar content and the activities of peroxidase(POD) polyphenoloxidase (PPO) etc. from vary ridgegourd (Luffa acutangula ) varities with differenthardiness, the results showed that in leaves of ridgegourd, the PPO ratio of reducing sugar content to totalsugar content and the stomata density of its lower epidermis were negatively relevant to its resistance a-gainst downy mildew (Pseudopronospora cubensis ). The corelation coefficients were 0. 986 1, - 0. 716 5and - 0.969 2 respectively, while the total sugar content were positively relevant to its resistance (r =0. 911 5 ). However POD activity, reducing sugar content and stomata size were all irrelevant to the resis-tance.

Abstract:The co-toxicities of tea saponin mixed with pesticides Bt, rotenone and dimethoae were testedrespectively. Results showed that tea saponin had significant synergistic actions on these pesticides. Abstract:Microsporognesis, megasporogenesis and development of male, female gametophyte in tomato(L. esculentum) were studied. The result showed that the cytokinesis of the pollen mether cell in meiosiswas of the simultaneous type. The arrangement of microspores in the tetrads was regular tetrahedroid. Thetapetum cell in tomato was the same tupe and was derived from the primary parietal cell, the modle oftapetum was glandular tapetum. The microspore was divided into two-cell polln(male gametophyte): onevegetative cell and one genrative cell. The stigma was wet type, the style was solid, anatropous ovule, sin-gle integument. The tetrads from the meiosis of megaspore mether cell lined staightly, but only the tap onenear micropyle could developed into the megaspore and other three cell degenerated. The developmet ofthe embryo sac (female gamtophyte) conformed with the polygonum type.

Abstract:The karyotypes of Anguilla anguilla and Anguilla japonica have been determined form thekidney cell by the method of PHA pericardial cavity injection in vivo. The chromosmes were studied bythe combination of scanning electronic microscopy(SEM). The results showed that the diploid chromo-some numbers of Anguilla anguilla and Anguilla japonica are the same of 38(2n = 38), the metacentric,submtacentric and telcenteic chromosomes of Anguilla anguilla are 6, 3, 10 pairs and Anguilla japonica5,5,9 pairs respectively. The total chromosomes arm count of Anguilla anguilla and Anguilla japonicaare 56, 58 respectively, There is a satellite in t3 chromosome of Anguille anguilla. The comparison ofkaryotypes of Anguilla anguilla and Anguilla japonica can provide the basis for classifying them andstudy the relationship of their systematic evolution.

Abstract:The seed rain of the mixed evergeen and deciduous broad-leaved forest on Fanjing Mountain,i.e. Fagus lucida. Illicium ternstroemioides community, is 260 m-2 of 18 species. The amount of theripe germinative seeds in the seed rain is 80 m- 2. At the beginning of the natural germination of the seedbank, the viable seeds in the seed bank are 2 076 m-2 of 33 species. Of the viable seeds, the presentplant seeds are 204 m-2 of 18 species, the seral earlier species seeds are 1 872 m-2 of 15 species. Theviable seeds belong to 20 woody species and 13 heth species. All the seeds in the litter of the seed bankare produced by the present plant. The species and the amount of the viable seed in the soil reduce grad-ually with the depth increasing of the soil. At the beginning of the natural germination of the seed bank,there are many viable seeds of the present plants in the seed bank. The regenerative potential of the pre-sent commnity is good.

Abstract:Four profiles of acid sulphate soils and 20 Samplings were taken according to different soiltypes and land use patterns in Taishan city, Guangdong province. The different sulfur forms including to-tal sulfur, pyrite (FeS2), jarosite, water-soluble sulfur, exchangeable sulfur, element S and organic Sand soil pH etc. were analyzed and estimated. The data showed that the contet of the total sulfur is veryhigh in soils in this region, and the sulfur in ASS was mostly in inorganic forms and dominated by pyrite,water - soluble sulfur and exchangeable sulfur; the content of element S and organic S was relatively low.The total suifur and pyrite usually chang with a trend of increasing from soil surface horizon to bottom;jarisite, water - soluble sulfur and exchangeable sulfur had similar change trend in profile, they common-ly accumulated in layers with a certain pH or low pH values. Coefficients between pH and exchangeablesulfur, contents of jaresite and total suifur are -0.800 7, -0. 437 4 and - 0.572 9 respectively; thecomplicated relationship was found between pH and content of pyrite in soils. The occurrence of jarositehas important diagnostic sighficance in the soil development and classification.

Abstract:Complexes in various size fractions from different fertility red soils obtained from Quaternaryred clay were separeted by ultrasonic dispersion in water. The various active organic phosphorus andphosphatase were analyzed in the paper. The results showed that the amount of organic phosphorus insoils and their complexes became larger with the increase of the fertility of red soils. The red soils andtheir complexes were dominantly involved in moderately active organic phosphorus (MAOP) and moder-ately stable organic phosphorus (MSOP), which were 80% of the total organic phosphorus. There was asignificantly positive relationship between soil phosphatase and soil complexes phosphorus.

Abstract:Nitrous oxide emission flux had direct relation with the kinds of fertilization and the methodsof irrigation applied to the rice field during the late rice growing season. There were four kinds of fertiliz-ers applied. The mean amounts of N2O emission flux, the ratio of which for the four treatments, i. e.,chemical fertilizer only, chemical fertilizer plus pig muck, chemical fertilizer plus mushroom fertilizer andpig muck only was 10: 2: 1:0. Nitrous oxide continuously flowed from the field applied with only chemicalfertilizer during the whole growing period. Because flooding the rice field would lower down the nitrousoxide emission, while drying the field would result in increase of the emission, flooding the rice fieldwould be an efficient methed to reduce the N2O emission flux atter application of fertilization.

Abstract:This research was conducted to study the effect of different tillage management systems (TMS) and working depth on maize production. The TMS used in experiment 1 were moldboard + disc harrow (MB+DH), chisel (CH), disc harrow twice (DH2), rotovator (RT) and no-tillage (NT) as a control. This experiment was conducted on a sandy loam soil. The results showed highly significant differences between treatments. The chisel (CH) significantly influenced maize growth parameters, reduced soil bulk density, soil tillage resistance, increased soil moisture at all depths and finally gave higher maize yield and yield components parameters while the no-tillage (NT) treatment gave the lowest performance. Experiment 2 was conducted on a clay soil with two treatments, no deep loosening (NDL) 20 cm depth and deep loosening (DL) 40 cm depth using tine. The results showed that the deep loosening significantly increased soil moisture, reduced soil bulk density, soil tillage resistance and finally increased maize production.
